Commit – My One Word for 2015

Kimberly B One Word Large - Commit

Happy New Year! Hope you gals and guys had a wonderful Christmas Season. It’s been over a week since I have taken time to write. While away, my intention was to spend treasured time with family and for so much needed introspection. Both of which were accomplished. The latter went in a direction, I did not expect. More on that later.

Waking early one morning, I unearthed the digital copy of my 2014 goals eager to see what I had accomplished. To my dismay, many of these lofty goals had gone undone. I had plans but failed to complete what I set out to do. I felt a sense of defeat and found myself throwing a mini-pity party where I was the chief celebrant rousing the popular chorus of “Woe is Me.”. In the midst of the ugly face and my pouted lips, God decided to rain on my parade. Read more

Farther Than I Meant To Go

The Trails

It was farther than I meant to go and longer than I meant to stay…

Have you ever found yourself going around in circles? I am not talking about the twirls you do in the middle of the grocery isle while no one else is looking 😉 . Here are two of my favorite pics  that I took while visiting The Niagara Falls this past summer:

I could not help but think of Amos 5:24  made popular by Martin Luther King Jr. in his I have a dream speech.

Let Justice roll like a mighty river

The Street

The Street
Photo taken with iPhone on my doorstep at about 6.15 p.m.

We Come

We Go

From dawn

‘Til dusk

Roads Diverge

Roads Converge

Many find their way

While others are at a loss

Some with warnings

Others with none

Over bridges

Into tunnels

Round & round

To a destination

With paths lit

Or in utter darkness

He sees red

She sees green

They start to speed

While the elder yields

Coffee in hand

Cellphone in another

All so busy

Why even bother

All going somewhere

Even when there is no where to go

Finding their way

Losing their way
