Farther Than I Meant To Go

The Trails

It was farther than I meant to go and longer than I meant to stay…

Have you ever found yourself going around in circles? I am not talking about the twirls you do in the middle of the grocery isle while no one else is looking 😉 . I am referring to frustrations you feel when you’re deliberately seeking the end of a task or journey and it seems like no end is in sight. It seems like you constantly end up back to where back where you started. Can I get an Amen if you have been there?…AMEN! I hope I am in good company cause I have been there and done that and here is ONE of my stories: Read more

My Life Song – A Psalm of Kim

God Lead Me

Last Sunday, At church we were challenged to write a Psalm – A Life Song that spoke from our heart to our God. Here is mine:

My Life Song – A Psalm of Kim

I stare over the open seas

Like waves,

I’m tossed one way and twirled the next.

Trying to be Mary in a world of Marthas

Trying my best to wait on God

To trust in God. Read more

Bliss…Photo Challenge Day 4

Bliss

blis/
noun
1.perfect happiness; great joy.
  1. “she gave a sigh of bliss”
synonyms: joy, happiness, pleasure, delight, ecstasy, elation, rapture, euphoria

The Photo Challenge of the day is to take a picture that best illustrates bliss. The more I think of it, the more I am convinced that a state of bliss speaks to the spirit and soul of a man or woman. I believe this encapsulates it best:

    The Ultimate Bliss
A call to a life of pure joy

In the belly of scripture we gain principles, promises and practices for a thriving life. It is here that purpose is revealed —

In the midst of God’s Presence is where I experience true bliss

Let Justice Roll…

Here are two of my favorite pics  that I took while visiting The Niagara Falls this past summer:

I could not help but think of Amos 5:24  made popular by Martin Luther King Jr. in his I have a dream speech.

Let Justice roll like a mighty river

Let Justice Roll
Horizontal Niagara

Righteousness like a never-failing stream.

Righteousness like an ever flowing stream

The Street

The Street
Photo taken with iPhone on my doorstep at about 6.15 p.m.

We Come

We Go

From dawn

‘Til dusk

Roads Diverge

Roads Converge

Many find their way

While others are at a loss

Some with warnings

Others with none

Over bridges

Into tunnels

Round & round

To a destination

With paths lit

Or in utter darkness

He sees red

She sees green

They start to speed

While the elder yields

Coffee in hand

Cellphone in another

All so busy

Why even bother

All going somewhere

Even when there is no where to go

Finding their way

Losing their way

Up & Down the Street

This is Home – A Place Where I Am Known

I Call This Home

HOME – Oh the familiar!

We all have various definitions of what and where home is. It is often associated with a feeling of welcome, knowing and comfort where one can sure find refuge. I have had the opportunity to call 9 different locations home in the past 10 years (*no, I am not a military kid*) and have learned many lessons along the way: some great,  others not so great times, and a few dreadful moments drizzled in between for good measure.
